Effective date: 11 January 2020
1. New students should use the online enrolment system (where applicable) or enrol directly via WhatsApp 5515 0550. 2. All students whose enrolment is confirmed will receive a confirmation from PY Education by phone or WhatsApp. 3. All enrolments are processed in the order in which the enrolment procedure is completed. 4. Existing PY Education students have priority to continue enrolling in the same time slot, but must pay the next term's tuition before the specified date to keep their place.
1. The first term's tuition is paid at the first lesson (calculated by the number of lessons required that month, which may be fewer than four), and the next term's tuition (a full term, normally four lessons) is paid in the last week of that month. 2. Tuition is normally paid monthly. Once enrolled, tuition paid is non-refundable and non-transferable. Except where enrolment numbers are insufficient, students are expected to attend classes as scheduled. 3. Students requesting extra lessons outside the original class schedule must book a time with their tutor and pay additional tuition. 4. Tuition can be paid in cash, by cheque or by bank transfer. For payment details, please WhatsApp 5515 0550. 5. If any course ends with less than a full term remaining (other than the first term), the incomplete portion is calculated as the actual class time multiplied by the hourly tuition rate.
1. Existing students have priority to continue enrolling in the same time slot, but must pay the next term's tuition before the specified date to keep their place; otherwise PY Education reserves the right to reassign the place to other students. 2. If a new student, or a student described above, wishes to join a class that is already full, PY Education will place the student on the waiting list. 3. Existing students and their siblings have priority on the waiting list for full classes. 4. If the desired time slot is full, students or parents may ask to join the waiting list, or choose another time slot for the same course.
Office Hours
Class Hours
1. Students may arrange at most one make-up lesson per month. 2. To take leave, whether for personal reasons or illness, students must notify their tutor at least 24 hours in advance in order to be eligible for a make-up lesson. Otherwise the lesson is counted as an absence, and neither a refund of that lesson's tuition nor a make-up lesson will be given. 3. After taking leave, students must contact their tutor to book the make-up lesson, and complete it within two months of the missed lesson — otherwise the make-up lesson is forfeited. 4. PY Education cannot guarantee that make-up lesson times will fit the student's timetable; students may need to attend make-up lessons at other times.
1. Except for PY Education staff, no one may photograph, video or audio-record any PY Education course or activity without permission. 2. PY Education reserves the right to use students' photos, videos or recordings and their work for training new teachers or promoting courses. Any student who does not agree should notify PY Education in writing.
1. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 or 3, Amber Rainstorm Warning, or Red Rainstorm Warning: all classes proceed as scheduled. 2. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above, or Black Rainstorm Warning: When the Hong Kong Observatory announces that Signal No. 8 or above will be hoisted, or a Black Rainstorm Warning issued, within two hours: 1. All classes are cancelled from the time of the announcement or hoisting/issuance. Please contact your tutor to arrange a make-up lesson. 2. Classes already in progress are not subject to (1); students should continue until the class ends and then stay in the classroom or another safe place. When the Hong Kong Observatory announces that Signal No. 8 or above, or the Black Rainstorm Warning, has been cancelled: 1. All classes starting two hours or more after the cancellation proceed as scheduled.
While severe weather is in effect, if you have any questions about these arrangements, please check class arrangements with your tutor first, and do not leave a safe place to travel directly to the classroom.
1. Unless agreed and approved in writing by PY Education, students should not approach PY Education tutors outside class to request teaching of any form; PY Education reserves the right to pursue all losses. If needed, contact PY Education and your tutor to arrange extra lessons. 2. If a student has not paid the new term's tuition, PY Education has the right to stop the student from attending class. This may delay the student's class time or prevent the student from continuing classes, and PY Education will not offer any compensation for such action, including but not limited to extended time, make-up lessons or refunds (where applicable). 3. All students must attend class on time; latecomers will not have their class time extended or rescheduled. For leave due to personal reasons or illness, notify the tutor at least 24 hours before the class begins. 4. Students may not change or swap class times without PY Education's prior permission. If needed, please contact PY Education staff for assistance. 5. If a tutor takes leave and PY Education cannot arrange a substitute teacher, alternative arrangements will be made for that day's lesson; please contact your tutor later to arrange a make-up lesson. 6. Please keep classes quiet; if you need to use a mobile phone, please step outside the classroom. 7. Other than the enrolled students, no one may accompany students into the classroom or observe classes. To visit a classroom, please contact PY Education in advance. 8. PY Education reserves the right to reschedule class times, change classrooms and tutors, and modify course content. 9. PY Education may adjust course fees, and will notify all affected students no less than one month before new fees take effect. 10. PY Education reserves the right to amend these rules without notifying every student individually; notices will be displayed prominently on the website — students and parents please take note. 11. PY Education has the final right of interpretation of all terms and conditions on this page.
