PY Education tutors primary students in English, mathematics and other subjects. Lessons are taught by Mr Wong, cover P4 to P6, and include focused preparation for the internal assessment (呈分試) and school transfer examinations.
The primary syllabus is not large, and what separates one student from another is usually concrete: in English, tenses and sentence patterns that were never properly distinguished; in mathematics, one question type whose steps were never understood. Our first lesson looks at recent homework and test papers to find where the marks are actually going, and starts there — not at page one of the textbook.
The internal assessment tests command of the school's own syllabus and consistency in answering. A transfer examination is a paper set by the school being applied to: different question types, different depth, different time pressure, and often an interview as well. We treat them separately — the internal assessment against the school's syllabus and past papers, the transfer exam with practice on the target school's question types.
Mr Wong breaks a concept down in order and expects the student to be able to say why each step is taken. The habits formed at primary level carry into secondary school — memorising gets a student through one dictation, but not through the word problems that come later.

Kwun Tong
75 minutes
Billed every four lessons, with lessons of 75 minutes. One-to-one: English HK$1,400, mathematics HK$1,200, other subjects HK$1,200 per four lessons. In a self-formed small group it is HK$200 less per student per four lessons — English HK$1,200, mathematics HK$1,000, other subjects HK$1,000.
Mainly P4 to P6. English starts at P4; mathematics and the other subjects are mostly P6, though we adjust to the student's actual level. If your child is in P1–P3, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether we can arrange it.
Yes. The internal assessment follows the school's own syllabus, so tell us the school and the materials in use when you enrol. We work from that school's progress and past papers, and from the marks lost in the last few tests.
Yes. Mr Wong has helped a P4 student transfer successfully into St Louis School (Primary Section), and knows how these papers are set and what the interviews ask. Preparation differs from the internal assessment: it adds practice on the target school's question types.
You form the group yourself by inviting a classmate; PY Education does not match students into groups. Primary groups take at most 2 students. Group size and lesson times are confirmed when you enrol, and each student pays HK$200 less per four lessons.
