Primary School (English, Mathematics and Other Subjects)
Primary mathematics tutoring, mainly P6: arithmetic, geometry, handling data and word problems, with full working practised to the standard the internal assessment and transfer examinations require. One-to-one or a self-formed group, 75 minutes a lesson, in Kwun Tong.
Need primary mathematics tutoring? Classes are taught by Mr Wong, who holds an MSc in Financial Mathematics and Statistics from City University of Hong Kong (Distinction) and a BBA in Finance from the same university. He is a full-time tutor with five years of one-to-one and small-group teaching experience, and the P6 students he currently teaches are holding Band 1 in mathematics.
Mainly P4 to P6, taught against the school’s own syllabus and what the internal assessment and transfer examinations ask for, covering arithmetic, geometry, handling data and word problems, with exercises matched to the school’s progress. Lessons are held in Kwun Tong and run 75 minutes.
Starting from the four operations and order of operations, then fractions, decimals and percentages and converting between them, and on to ratio and proportion. What this layer asks for is accuracy and fluency, so we do not rush ahead — the point is that it becomes reliable.

Covering perimeter, area, volume and angles, along with reading charts and handling data. The emphasis here is on reading the diagram or table a question gives and taking the right figures out of it.

Word problems are where primary mathematics marks are won. We teach students to turn the words into a relationship first — which quantity is the whole, which is the part, where the multiple is — and then to write the equation, with full working on every question, because both the internal assessment and transfer papers award marks by step.

For the internal assessment we work from the school’s syllabus and past papers, setting the emphasis from where marks went in the last few tests. Transfer preparation adds practice on the target school’s question types, including the harder questions some schools set.

Mathematics is mainly P6, and we take P4 and P5 students according to their actual level. The trial lesson looks at recent test papers to confirm which topic to start from.
Yes, but not by drilling more questions. We work backwards from the questions they got wrong to find whether they stopped at reading the question, writing the equation or the arithmetic, and then practise that step.
No. We teach the school syllabus, the internal assessment and transfer examination mathematics. Some schools set harder questions in their transfer papers, and those question types we do practise.
