Hong Kong Secondary (HKDSE and Junior Forms)
S.1–S.3 English tutoring, from grammar and sentence patterns to reading comprehension, writing and speaking, prepared against the school's own syllabus and marking. One-to-one or a self-formed group, 75 minutes a lesson, Kwun Tong or online.
Need junior secondary English tutoring? Classes are taught by Mr Wong, who holds an MSc in Financial Mathematics and Statistics from City University of Hong Kong, graduating with Distinction. He is a full-time tutor with five years of one-to-one and small-group teaching experience and knows the junior English syllabuses local secondary schools use.
From S.1 to S.3, lessons follow the school’s syllabus and its marking, covering grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing and speaking, while laying the foundation for senior-form English. In Kwun Tong or online, 75 minutes a lesson.
The junior forms are where the whole grammar system is put together. We work through the tense system, voice, clauses and connectives in order, so that students command sentence variety and write sentences that are complete and clear.

Covering question types, inference questions, and matching answer length to the marks. We work through the school’s test papers and past questions one at a time, so students can see what the examiner is asking for.

Writing starts from paragraph structure and developing an argument, and covers the formats of the common text types; compositions are marked line by line and rewritten to the feedback. Speaking practises ordering an answer and the phrasing that holds up on the spot.

We do not hand out a fresh exercise in the first lesson. We read the student’s recent compositions, test papers and homework, list what keeps recurring, and decide from there where to begin — so every lesson is spent where it is actually needed.
Grammar and writing built up in the junior forms make senior English considerably lighter work. We already shape the writing and reading practice around what DSE answers ask for, so the move into S.4 is a smooth one.

Both, but they are taught differently. Catching up reconnects the broken concepts in order; stretching concentrates on depth of argument in writing and on inference questions in comprehension.
