GCE A-Level / IAL
IAL Economics tutoring across the Edexcel and Cambridge unit structure — micro, macro, business behaviour and the global economy — with retakes planned around the January and June sittings. One-to-one, with a free trial lesson.
International A-Level Economics is sat in units, with sittings in January and June, and units can be retaken for a better grade. The practical consequence is that you are not putting everything on one exam at the end — but it also means the planning has to start earlier. Which unit you sit in the lower year, and which you leave room to retake, is a decision for the beginning of the course, not the end.
The first lesson looks at your sitting schedule and any unit grades you already hold. A unit sitting just under a boundary is usually worth retaking; one comfortably above it is not worth another hour.
Extended answers are marked in levels: knowledge, application, analysis, evaluation. The usual failure is spending the whole answer explaining the theory and adding "however, there are drawbacks" at the end. Evaluation has to carry content — weighing one policy against another, or naming the conditions under which your own conclusion stops holding.
We mark against the published assessment criteria in the lesson, so you can see which level your answer sits in and what specifically moves it up one.

IAL is modular, so the schedule is worked backwards from which unit you intend to sit when, rather than following the school. Units for the nearest sitting are locked down first and the rest follow, which spreads the load and leaves room for a resit.
Yes. We start from the previous script and mark breakdown to establish whether the loss came from content, from how time was allocated, or from how answers were written — the remedy for those three is completely different.
The syllabus and paper structure differ, and so do the unit split and sitting arrangements. Tell us your board at enrolment and lessons run on that syllabus and its past papers.
Yes — tick the box on the application form. The trial establishes your board, which units you have sat and with what marks, before agreeing a plan.
