GCE A-Level / IAL
GCE A-Level and International A-Level mathematics tutoring, planned around the modular units, the sittings and the retake decisions, covering Pure, Mechanics and Statistics. Taught by Mr Wong, 60 minutes a lesson, Kwun Tong or online.
Need GCE A-Level or International A-Level mathematics tutoring? Classes are taught by Mr Wong, who holds an MSc in Financial Mathematics and Statistics from City University of Hong Kong (Distinction) and a BBA in Finance from the same university, a full-time tutor with five years of one-to-one and small-group teaching experience. He also teaches IB, AP and IGCSE mathematics.
Covering the Pure, Mechanics and Statistics units, taught to the Edexcel IAL or Cambridge International A-Level syllabus and planned around the January and June sittings. In Kwun Tong or online, one hour a lesson.
Pure is the backbone of the subject and the prerequisite for Further Mathematics. It covers algebra and functions, trigonometry, differentiation and integration, and sequences and series.

IAL is sat unit by unit, with sittings in January and June, and a unit can be taken separately or retaken for a better grade. The three kinds of unit reward different things, so the order can follow the student’s strengths. The first lesson looks at the sitting plan and the units already banked, and lays out a workable timeline.
The new material at A-Level builds on IGCSE algebra. The first lesson confirms how fluent that layer is and shores it up where useful, so the new topics go down more easily.
Further Mathematics is a separate A-Level with its own page and its own rate. For students taking both, we lay the two subjects’ units and sittings out on one timeline and plan them together.

The two divide the units and structure the papers differently, so working to the right one keeps every practice paper pointed at the examination you will actually sit.
